There are days I listen to the silence. Some other days I listen to the same song play through my earphones for hours. When I listen to the same song on repeat for three hours without thinking of anything in particular, I know all I’m doing is attempting to drown my thoughts. I’m almost hypnotizing myself to keep going like the music–if it doesn’t stop, we don’t stop. Hope would keep me moving and faith, faith would teach me: Sometimes it’s okay to let the silence play. Listen to it. See where it moves you.

 It makes me think of a sweet verse I read today: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32:8

Coincidentally, I’m listening to a song my friend, Rudy, played for me called Le vent nous portera (click play to listen) which means “The wind will carry us.” I like how it sounds, and I only now stopped to think of its meaning — before it was just a repeated sound playing through my earphones, but I’m sure it felt right in my head for a reason. It’s soothing, and it calms my mind which before now felt like a rapidly orbiting tornado.

If you are going through a state of confusion or searching for direction, I want to remind you to be calm, listen to your heart and have faith in God’s plan. Even though, you can’t figure out where the wind will land you, just close your eyes and allow God’s peace to move you where you need to go.
