I have yet to explain to anyone what exactly my personal style is. However, a few weeks ago while preparing for an interview I thought it wise to think about what my answer would be. After wracking my brain for hours, I decided to google the answers of fashion insiders I looked up to – some said they were boho chic, others were minimalists and some like, Leandra Cohen, were buffet dressers!<\/a> Yep!<\/em> Hours later, and immensely more frustrated than before, I became more interested in pondering the relevance of the question. What did it matter? It was a subjective answer that could only be useful in categorizing rather than judging the strength of one\u2019s fashion sense.<\/p>\n

I was never asked the question in my interview. But I thought to still share what little insight I\u2019d gathered on the matter of my style \u2014 my personal style is based on characters from films I\u2019ve watched, stories I\u2019ve read and others I\u2019ve imagined.<\/p>\n

\"ArmenylIt has been a while since I shopped for anything without thinking of a story behind the outfit. My clothes are frankly more costumes than they are anything. I buy or make<\/a> an outfit and immediately think of a story to follow. \u00a0Most times, I will shoot an editorial to match the stories in my head<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Two stories run through my head when I first saw this brick-red dress from free people\u2013 \u00a0running through the forest<\/strong> or lost in the city<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There are stories after stories hanging over the “costumes” in my closet and I\u2019ve been making sure to capture my imaginations with photographs that I can share here\u00a0(stay tuned)!\"Armenyl<\/p>\n

I may not be running through the forest every day\u00a0in this dress (or at all!), but you would probably find me wearing it in the city. As for the getting lost aspect, well that\u2019s probably the part where art imitates life.<\/p>\n
