Just one

Everywhere on Facebook, there’s a post or note about New Years, so much that it was quite tempting to avoid doing one all together, but it’s hard not to say anything about the year that is passing—There were a lot of amazing changes in my life and on Armenyl  as well,  and even more great things to come, God willing… so if you have room for one more…please read on I guarantee it’s not a rant about the people and BS I am contemplating leaving behind in 2015. I promise.

Every 31st of December, I write a minimum of three pages of New Years Resolutions. Front & back! Before I write a new one each year, I re-read the previous one, review what I accomplished (which is usually very few), and repeat what I didn’t accomplish on my new list.

This year I only have one! Not because I accomplished everything on the previous list–I haven’t even taken a look at that list–but because this year I did something a little different.

A lot of amazing things happened in 2015. Breakthroughs and elevations some of which I’m still in awe of to this day. I thank God for His many many mercies and favor throughout the year and all the amazing opportunities he allowed me to enjoy.

Within the past three months alone, after I shared this post on my birthday, I changed a lot of things(and you could also say this is where the remotest form of “new year new me” happened)

Within the last three months I learned how to paint, I took a drawing class, I practiced some more photography, I joined a gym for the first time and remained committed every evening, I tried yoga, I joined a pilates class, I meditated, I changed my diet, I danced some more(sometimes for 3.5 hours… by myself) I opened up more, I made (great) friends, I trusted a little more, I loved a little harder, I stressed out less, I tried new things and let go of a lot of old things. This year I lived a little, breathe a little, connected a little more and a lot of my courage to pursue these things has come from coming out to talk to you guys about it. I managed everything on the list above and more everyday, disciplining myself to make time for each of them. I didn’t do any leisurely, I put my heart into it each time. None of my friends or co-workers understood where I found my time. Even I can’t be certain how I found time to watch The Office, Breaking Bad, and Jessica Jones every night.

The months before were not any different. They begun some amazing opportunities which pushed me to the point of striving to become a better version of myself.

That’s why I won’t spend today looking at my old list. I am content and grateful to God for the year that passed. This coming year, I have one resolution. Unless, of course, you consider it cheating if I have one for Armenyl and one for myself? As for my one resolution I’ve decided to let you know more about it in the new year God willing, but I can tell you it’s exciting and I am pretty certain it will reflect on here as well. For Armenyl, I’m striving to work on the quality of my work and make it a point to work hard on each post that I share. My goal is that each post will inspire you somehow especially in my creativity and photography. God bless our plans…

P. S I have so much time on my hands today since I don’t have to write a three page new years resolution list! Not sure, maybe I will curl my hair and just figure what else to do to kill time.. it feels rather odd. Thank you all for your love and supports and visits throughout the year!!!!! Love you!!

For 2016:

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”…. May this coming year be filled with Peace that passeth all understanding, Love and mercy as deep and strong as that of Christ, Hope, fulfillment, Victory, Breakthroughs, Prosperity, Joy like running waters, radiant beauty, the light, grace and protection of God for us all Amen!

My 2016

 “Arise, shine, for your light has come,
    and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
    and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
    and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light,
    and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

“Lift up your eyes and look about you:
    All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
    and your daughters are carried on the hip.
Then you will look and be radiant,
    your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
    to you the riches of the nations will come.
Herds of camels will cover your land,
    young camels of Midian and Ephah.
And all from Sheba will come,
    bearing gold and incense
    and proclaiming the praise of the Lord.
All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you,
    the rams of Nebaioth will serve you;
they will be accepted as offerings on my altar,
    and I will adorn my glorious temple.

“Who are these that fly along like clouds,
    like doves to their nests?
Surely the islands look to me;
    in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,
bringing your children from afar,
    with their silver and gold,
to the honor of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.

10 “Foreigners will rebuild your walls,
    and their kings will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
    in favor I will show you compassion.
11 Your gates will always stand open,
    they will never be shut, day or night,
so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations—
    their kings led in triumphal procession.
12 For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish;
    it will be utterly ruined.

13 “The glory of Lebanon will come to you,
    the juniper, the fir and the cypress together,
to adorn my sanctuary;
    and I will glorify the place for my feet.
14 The children of your oppressors will come bowing before you;
    all who despise you will bow down at your feet
and will call you the City of the Lord,
    Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 “Although you have been forsaken and hated,
    with no one traveling through,
I will make you the everlasting pride
    and the joy of all generations.
16 You will drink the milk of nations
    and be nursed at royal breasts.
Then you will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior,
    your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17 Instead of bronze I will bring you gold,
    and silver in place of iron.
Instead of wood I will bring you bronze,
    and iron in place of stones.
I will make peace your governor
    and well-being your ruler.
18 No longer will violence be heard in your land,
    nor ruin or destruction within your borders,
but you will call your walls Salvation
    and your gates Praise.
19 The sun will no more be your light by day,
    nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the Lord will be your everlasting light,
    and your God will be your glory.
20 Your sun will never set again,
    and your moon will wane no more;
the Lord will be your everlasting light,
    and your days of sorrow will end.
21 Then all your people will be righteous
    and they will possess the land forever.
They are the shoot I have planted,
    the work of my hands,
    for the display of my splendor.
22 The least of you will become a thousand,
    the smallest a mighty nation.
I am the Lord;
    in its time I will do this swiftly.”

In the name of The Lord Jesus Christ Amen
