Imagine stepping outside your home or office and finding the streets filled with artists painting at every corner! Such was the case in the already charming town of Ellicott City this past weekend when, for its Plein Air event, artists from around the region perched their easels along the streets to paint the rather picturesque little town. It was like walking into a painting, literally. The air was filled with cheer and lovely music stringing through the atmosphere of the warm breezy summer day. Down by the river, there was also a rock building event which, besides the fun of stacking rocks and making art, must have been a great way to cool off from the summer heat. I wouldn’t deny that I was tempted to jump join in, but I didn’t show up dressed for the occasion. I will have more photographs of the rock building event up here soon. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the photographs from the Plein Air event. I have been working on them for the past 18 hours! O_O No, seriously! I just couldn’t wait to show you, and I also don’t have a choice because the week ahead promises to be super busy, and I’d hate to miss out on sharing this with you! Oh and once this crazy busy week is over, I’m taking a painting class!
If you’d like to see more, there will be an exhibition of the paintings at the Howard County Center for the Arts tonight from 6 to 8pm.
