If you’ve never visited the Peabody Insitute in Mount Vernon, you need to shoot it straight up your must-see list. The historic conservatory is the oldest in the United States and home to one of the most stunning libraries I’ve ever seen. The entrance leading to the spiral staircase is currently open only to students, but I managed to sneak in for a quick peek.
