Over the weekend, I stopped by Main Street Ellicott City to check out their 40th Annual Midnight Madness event. I still remember my first time like it was yesterday. I was super excited about all the Christmas windows and taking pictures of all the magical moments. A lot has happened between that time and now; Ellicott City has suffered two devastating floods. One of them was only 6 months ago, and not every business returned this time after the flood. But, you could feel it when you walked down the street, the spirit of hope and resilience through every beautifully decorated window and cheerful shop owner. It was still just as magical!
I wasn’t able to stay for as long as I did the last time, but I did capture some footage of the event and pieced it together to make a little tribute to the special event that won my heart years ago. I continue to hope and pray for the recovery of this special little town and all who have been affected by the flood. I am so proud of its resilience, and although videotaping the event this year wasn’t something I planned in advance, I am happy I can share a tiny piece of the magic with you all and hope that if you are ever in the area you would go out and support these amazing businesses and people who keep the town going!
