The first thing I ever purchased with my piggy bank savings was a lip product. It was a cherry-flavored lip gloss by a brand called sleek. Every night, I’d slather a tub full of vaseline, as much my sticky little fingers could take, on my lips before bed. I remember my cousins would tease me about having a hot date in dreamland. I was only 9 years old, but lip care was a big deal to me! When I grew older and learned about lip scrubs, it was the first thing a Mary Kay sales associate could sell me. I also may or may not have paid $50 for lip balm before!
I have been obsessed with lip care for as long as I can remember
So, it’s no surprise that I have a whole lip care routine I now religiously follow. During my recent trip to Paris, I stocked up on what I believe is the best lip care product in the world. You probably saw it here in my french beauty routine. Now, I follow a daily routine of exfoliating, moisturizing, sealing and protecting. - I alternate between a sugar scrub and this one I absolutely love; Rubbing my lips together to gently exfoliate and then wiping it off with a washcloth.
- I then follow up with a little steam treatment in the shower: I apply vitamin oil to my lip and keep it on while I take my shower to allow the oil to penetrate deeply into my lip
- Next up, I moisturize my lip with this honey lip balm (This is my favorite lip product ever it keeps the lips super soft for 12 hours +) or sometimes I use this one
- Then I seal again with a tiny bit of vitamin e oil
- Finally, and probably the most important part, I protect with an SPF lip balm ( this especially important during the day as exfoliants make our skin sensitive to sunlight
