I first heard of the Tea on the Tiber room from it pretty windows on Ellicott city Main Street. All I ever did was take pictures of the windows, but I never went in because it was always closed. One Friday, I popped by with my mom and they were opened! We took a quick tour of the place, and we just knew we had to come back for tea. We could already see it becoming a weekend tradition. The walls of the tea room were covered with beautiful vintage wallpaper which added to the cute and dollhouse-like atmosphere of the room. There were two floors for tea, and each room on the floor had a different character. My favorite room was one called “The Library, ” yes, it is just what you are thinking: A quaint tea room surrounded by books. My mom and I didn’t make our date for tea until two months after. Each Monday of the month we remembered we forgot to go for tea on Saturday. But, this weekend we remembered early enough and made our way there on Sunday. We sat in a room that overlooked the other side of the Ellicott city main street: Tiber. It was bright and so serene.
We decided on the Afternoon Tea on the menu, which was a three course meal with a selection of tea, scones, confiture, desserts, fruits, and pastries. It was a delightful afternoon in Ellicott City filled with really delicious Chai Latte and Apricot Tea. I can’t wait to to go back.
