It’s been a long time since we spoke about skincare on here! I had to break the silence for this one because I may have just found THE primer.
First, let’s start with a list of things I look for in a primer: pore filling, smoothing, long-lasting, and beneficial for my skin in the long run. The Ren Perfect Canvas Serum is packed with healthy acids and probiotics that promote overall skin health, contains natural ingredients, is silicone-free and can be worn on its own or under makeup. Most of its fan base comes from being used as an ultra-smoothing and makeup enhancing primer which is what I review here today!
It fills in all the pores and gives a near perfect canvas. The first time I used it under powder foundation my skin almost looked blurred! I was very impressed. Now, I must mention that on my second try I wasn’t too happy with the longevity, but then again I had been wearing it for 11 hours on a very busy day. I did not need any touch ups throughout the day, but by the by the 11th-hour, things were starting to look cakey.
Overall, this is definitely at the top of my favorite primers! (Let me know if you are interested in hearing more about my go-to favorite primers).
How I use it.
I wash my face, moisturize + apply SPF. Then, rub two drops of REN Perfect canvas into my palm, and pat it onto my skin until absorbed.
As a skincare serum, there don’t seem to be any instructions on how often to you use it. And, you have to remember to apply it after your moisturizer instead of before like most serums.

I am still testing how this product works on its own without foundation which is really why I purchased it. Some of the skincare benefits mentioned on the site are reducing pore size and wrinkles, smoothing as well as hydrating. I will update the review after a few weeks with any noticeable skincare benefits.*
