I tried so hard not to give in to this Instagram cult-favorite, but here we are, I finally purchased a beauty fridge
… and I love it!
Some may have bought this purely for aesthetic purposes i.e the cute Instagrammable fridge stocked with Drunk Elephant serums and Laneige sleeping masks, but I belong to the small group that had a Vitamin C serum with a short-shelf life and panicked! Of course, I wasn’t going to buy a fridge just for my one very expensive Vitamin C serum, so I started reading more about the other products on my vanity that could use lower than room temperature, and it turns out quite a few; including my jade roller which now feels close to euphoria when it presses across my cheeks to massage my face and tighten up my pores. Other products like my homemade aloe serums that would typically go bad in three days, my favorite Caudalie beauty elixir that I didn’t think could be more refreshing until I got a fridge, face masks, and of course, the Drunk Elephant serums which may have started the beauty fridge craze in the first place are all now stacked in my little fridge.
What goes inside a beauty fridge?
Serums with active ingredients such as Retinol and Vitamin C, face masks, jade rollers, face mists, eye creams as well as all-natural/organic products with short shelf lives
Things to probably avoid storing in the fridge? Makeup such as foundation and mascara and some oils.
My beauty fridge sits right beside my bed so that it is easier to grab morning pick-me-ups like my Avene thermal face spray or face rollers for a quick massage before bed.
Do you need a beauty fridge? Probably not! But I love that it is quite affordable and, among other things, acts as a neat organizer for my beauty products. Using my refrigerated beauty products feels like a spa moment when I put them on my skin. I have also seen a difference in my skincare especially in the efficacy of certain products. Plus, okay all right, it is super cute!
