I know it is strange to be talking about beaches this time of the year, but when you meet the product that just transports your senses out to a beach in the middle of nowhere, it’s hard to resist. I am quite late to the party. Admittedly, I have been seeing Sol de Janeiro’s award-winning Brazilian Bum Bum Cream on many beauty bloggers shelves for years, but have never tried it. I have always been curious about it — Is it a cream for your butt? What does it do?
When Sephora sent their annual bday gift options this year, it was included in the list and I jumped at the opportunity to try a sample — still, very unsure about what it was for. I must have read the label about 5 times when the package came in, trying to figure out what it was used for. That was until I snapped the cap open, took a whiff of the notes of salted caramel, and immediately fell in love! I quickly ordered the full size, the Brazilian Bum Bum scrub, and the glowmotions body oil because I have never been able to resist a shimmering body oil (especially one that could pass as a face highlighter.)
Body Cream
Despite the name, the Brazilian bum bum cream is not just for your bum, it can be used as a full-body cream and it works well to tighten the skin with its caffeine-rich formula! I am trying hard to resist purchasing the Brazilian Bum Bum line in every product it comes in, but I am already eyeing the shampoo set which I received as a sample packet.
My original Sephora sample also included the Coco Cabana Body Cream, which smells delicious, but the bum bum cream, pronounced boom-boom cream, has my heart.
It makes you feel like you are out in the middle of the beach somewhere prancing through the sands in your colorful bikini and carefree curls. The best part is the scent lasts forever. For those of you who like to leave a mark, I was still smelling notes of salted caramel and pistachio on my sheets the next day.
The body scrub was probably the only thing I wasn’t as happy with, and it was mainly because the amount of product I received for the price was a bit of a letdown.
The Copacabana Bronze glow motions body oil is in the shade warm bronze and smells just like the bum bum cream line which I wasn’t expecting. It leaves a soft shimmery glide to the skin and a perfect sunkissed glow. On my skin tone, however, the warm tone wasn’t as visible, so I may have to try a darker tone if I want to achieve a tanned look. (I checked there isn’t one currently 😕)
I know I am a long ways from Summer, but I will probably still be making little trips to the beach in my head whenever I smooth on this product. I am interested to see how it holds up in the winter weather.
