I cannot tell you how happy it makes me when I get messages from you all about planning trips to Ghana! Ghana is beautiful and I really can’t wait for you to experience it. From the culture to the food to the booming creative scene, you need Ghana on you must-see list ASAP!
One of the most popular questions I get from you is where I shoot my portraits, so I’ve compiled a mini travel guide of some of the most photogenic places to shoot in Accra the next time you’re in town. These are some of my favorites but I will continue to add to the list as more come up!
Rose Garden
If you love pink, flowers, and all day breakfast, definitely swing by Rose Garden in Labone
Polo Beach Club
This is a pop up event at Labadi Beach that happens around December into early January! If you are ever in town, it’s worth experiencing one of their day parties
Vine Restaurant
I think it’s fair to say I am here at least once a week. The perfect brunch setting with superb service.
La Palm Royal Beach Hotel
This one I get asked about the most!! Another beachfront hotel worth the visit!
Garage
Instagram-worthy! Umbrella’s in the sky at Garage—a cocktail lounge/bar in Accra
Airport City + Coco Lounge
Hotels, banks, malls, night clubs, and restaurants—all conveniently stationed in this little world right out of Accra’s international airport, KIA. But what is even more noteworthy is the architectural showdown of magnificent skyscrapers and buildings. Stylish architecture is something Accra does really well!
Olma Colonial Suites
Mini staycation anyone? For a pool day, girl’s trip or just to bask in bougainvillea—you know me and flowers—I have a full post dedicated to Olma Colonial Suites!
Osu Castle
This little known castle is right off the shores of Osu and worth the history lesson …and the bleach white walls
Black Star Square
Commemorating Ghana’s Independence, the Black Star Square is a must-see on your list and a beautiful part of Ghana’s history & pride! In the mood for more history? Go right around the corner to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, memorial grounds of the first prime minister of Ghana and leader of Ghana’s fight for freedom!
Little Havana
I don’t know if they will allow you to shoot in their windows like I did. I was hauled up there! But you can always escape to Cuba in this afro-cuban restaurant in Labone
