Supergoop Sunscreen Review by Armenyl

New Kids on the (Sun)block

My sunscreen collection is growing…

Supergoop Vitamin C Sunscreen Review by Armenyl

If there’s a beauty routine I proudly follow diligently, it’s wearing sunscreen daily! It’s a fixed part of my morning routine whether I go out or stay inside.

This wasn’t always something I thought about. Not only because I wasn’t aware of sunscreen benefits like preventing wrinkles but also because there hasn’t always been options that worked with my skin tone.

In the past, wearing sunscreen meant having to follow up with makeup to cover the Casper mask the mineral sunscreen left on my face. Now, there are thankfully more options out on the market that have resolved this issue; a myriad of chemical sunscreens that work beautifully with my skin tone.

I have a few favorites, but for the longest time, my go-to has been the Unseen Sunscreen by Supergoop! It leaves a smoothing, blurring finish that makes for a great incentive to keep applying just because of how great it makes my skin look! Plus, it’s a great primer under makeup.

Naturally, every time the Supergoop! brand releases any iteration of this product I ran and buy it. Not all of them have been hits. My least favorite was the Mineral matte Sunscreen which broke me out.

The new kids on the block

Recently, I discovered two new babies I had to try! The Daily Dose Hydra-Ceramide Boost which is super hydrating and the Daily Dose Vitamin C which has the added benefit of Vitamin C—a powerful combo that helps skin look bright and youthful. Both are powered by SPF 40 + and are more hydrating compared to the original Unseen sunscreen. Of the two, I’ve been really loving the Daily Dose Vitamin C because the benefits of Vitamin C on the skin are endless and combining it with SPF only boosts its efficacy. Moreover, the 2-in-1 combo saves me a step of having to apply Vitamin C before my sunscreen daily. The Hydra-Ceramide Boost on the other hand is, as advertised, more hydrating. Sometimes this feels too heavy on my skin and I wouldn’t say it absorbs well, but it looks quite good under make up. Both are on the oily side compared to the original Unseen sunscreen which actually lives up to it’s name and blends undetected. The Unseen Sunscreen is still my absolute favorite of three with the Daily Dose Vitamin C sunscreen coming in second. Best of all, all three are Black Girl Friendly #NoCaspershade!
